• Emissions: Israel emitted around 71.3 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, about 0.12% of the global total.
• Per person: Emissions were around 7.6 tonnes per person per year, rated very high on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions fell by around 0.48% a year over the ten years to 2024, far slower than the 4% yearly decline the world as a whole needs to achieve Net Zero in 2050 and limit warming to around 1.7 °C.
• What drives it: CO₂ made up 74% of emissions, methane 12%, F-gases 11% and nitrous oxide 3.6%.
• Historic responsibility: Since 1851, Israel's emissions have produced around 3,820 megatonnes CO₂e of warming impact, about 0.1% of the global total, or around 9.5 tonnes per person per year.
