• Emissions: Kazakhstan emitted around 375 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, accounting for 0.66% of the global total.
• Per person: Emissions were around 18.2 tonnes per person per year, rated extremely high on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions fell by around 4.5 megatonnes CO₂e a year, or 1.18% yearly, over the ten years to 2024-slower than the 4% yearly global decline needed for Net Zero in 2050 and around 1.7 °C warming.
• What drives it: CO₂ made up around 81.4% of emissions, methane 14.22%, nitrous oxide 3.19% and F-gases 1.19%.
• Historic responsibility: Since 1851, Kazakhstan's emissions have produced around 31,000 megatonnes CO₂e of warming impact, 0.79% of the global total, averaging around 20.4 tonnes per person per year.
