• Emissions: Trinidad and Tobago emitted around 42.8 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, accounting for 0.08% of the global total.
• Per person: Emissions were around 28.4 tonnes per person per year in 2024, an extremely high rating on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions fell by around 0.88 megatonnes CO₂e a year, or 1.9% yearly, over the ten years to 2024-slower than the 4% yearly global decline needed for Net Zero in 2050 and around 1.7 °C warming.
• What drives it: CO₂ accounts for around 81% of emissions, methane 11%, F-gases 5.1% and nitrous oxide 3.1%.
• Historic responsibility: Since 1851, Trinidad and Tobago's emissions have produced around 2,490 megatonnes CO₂e of warming impact: 0.06% of the global total, or around 21.5 tonnes per person per year on a population-weighted basis.
