• Trend: Emissions rose by around 1 megatonne CO₂e a year, or 1.66%, over the ten years to 2024, rather than the 4% yearly decline the world needs to limit warming to around 1.7 °C.
• What drives it: CO₂ made up around 61% of emissions, methane 35%, F-gases 4.1% and nitrous oxide 0.33%.
