• Emissions: Belarus emitted around 94.6 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, about 0.17% of the global total.
• Per person: Emissions were around 10.4 tonnes per person per year, rated extremely high on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions fell by around 0.84% a year over the ten years to 2024, slower than the 4% yearly decline the world needs to achieve Net Zero in 2050 and limit warming to around 1.7 °C.
• What drives it: CO₂ made up around 64% of emissions, methane 19%, nitrous oxide 16% and F-gases 0.38%.
• Historic responsibility: Since 1851, Belarus's emissions have produced around 13,100 megatonnes CO₂e of warming impact, about 0.34% of the global total, or around 10.9 tonnes per person per year.
