• Emissions: Bulgaria emitted around 41.3 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, accounting for 0.07% of the global total.
• Per person: Emissions were around 6.1 tonnes per person per year, rated high on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions fell by around 1.68 megatonnes CO₂e a year, or 3.17% yearly, over the ten years to 2024-slower than the 4% yearly global decline needed for Net Zero in 2050 and warming of around 1.7 °C.
• What drives it: CO₂ made up around 66% of Bulgaria's emissions, methane 21%, nitrous oxide 9.7% and F-gases 3.5%.
