• Emissions: France emitted around 345 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, about 0.6% of the global total.
• Per person: This was around 5.2 tonnes per person per year, rated high on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions fell by around 2.62% a year over the ten years to 2024, slower than the 4% yearly decline the world needs to achieve Net Zero in 2050 and limit warming to around 1.7 °C.
