• Emissions: Jamaica emitted around 9.28 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, about 0.02% of the global total.
• Per person: Emissions were around 3.3 tonnes per person per year, rated moderate on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions fell by around 0.84% a year over the ten years to 2024, slower than the 4% yearly decline the world as a whole needs to achieve Net Zero in 2050 and limit warming to around 1.7 °C.
• What drives it: CO₂ made up around 86% of emissions, methane 8%, nitrous oxide 3.8% and F-gases 2.3%.
• Historic responsibility: Since 1851, Jamaica's emissions have produced around 902 megatonnes CO₂e of warming impact, about 0.02% of the global total, or around 3.7 tonnes per person per year.
