• Emissions: Angola emitted around 159 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, about 0.28% of the global total.
• Per person: This was around 4.2 tonnes per person per year, rated moderate on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions fell by roughly 5.7 megatonnes CO₂e a year, or 3.3%, over the ten years to 2024-slower than the 4% yearly global decline needed for Net Zero in 2050 and warming of around 1.7 °C.
• What drives it: Fossil and land-use CO₂ make up around 62%, methane around 27%, nitrous oxide around 11% and F-gases around 0.5%.
• Historic responsibility: Since 1851, Angola's emissions have produced around 12,800 megatonnes CO₂e of warming impact, about 0.33% of the global total, or around 9.4 tonnes per person per year, rated very high.
