• Per person: Emissions were around 8.6 tonnes per person per year, rated very high on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions rose by around 0.093 megatonnes CO₂e a year, or 3.16% yearly, over the ten years to 2024, rather than the 4% yearly decline the world needs to achieve Net Zero in 2050 and limit warming to around 1.7 °C.
• What drives it: CO₂ made up around 89% of emissions, methane 9.3%, nitrous oxide 1.4% and F-gases 0%.
• Historic responsibility: Since 1851, the Bahamas' emissions have produced around 220 megatonnes CO₂e of warming impact, about 0.01% of the global total, or around 8.9 tonnes per person per year.
