• Emissions: The Philippines emitted around 314 megatonnes CO₂e in 2024, about 0.55% of the global total.
• Per person: Emissions were around 2.7 tonnes per person per year, rated moderate on a scale where any level above zero adds warming.
• Trend: Emissions rose by around 5.4 megatonnes CO₂e a year over the ten years to 2024, rather than the 4% yearly decline the world needs to achieve Net Zero in 2050 and limit warming to around 1.7 °C.
• What drives it: CO₂ made up around 66% of emissions, methane 25%, nitrous oxide 5.9% and F-gases 2.7%.
• Historic responsibility: Since 1851, the Philippines' emissions have produced around 25,700 megatonnes CO₂e of warming impact, about 0.66% of the global total, or around 4.7 tonnes per person per year.
